A large gold and diamond jewelery safe box was stolen

It was 4 in the morning when two cars stopped outside a pawnshop in Palaio Faliro. 8 men with their faces covered descended the store window. Then they went to the two safes that were full of expensive jewelery and watches. Within a few minutes they managed to pick up one safe that weighed 1.5 tons and disappeared.
"In the safe box there were rings, necklaces, gold bracelets and diamonds. The damage the robbers caused me is more than 400,000 euros," says the owner of the store, who has to compensate the owners of jewelery for the second time.

The owner of the pawnshop is a refugee from Syria. He came to Greece 20 years ago. Since then he has done a lot of work. A few years ago he opened a craft manufacturing shoes. When the financial crisis erupted, he thought to open the pawnshop. The robbery destroyed him financially
The bandits wanted to leave quickly. With their car they hit a motorbike and injured it`s two passengers. They did not stop and they left at great speed.

Their car was found a few hours after burned in Menidi. The perpetrators remain incompetent.

Lately, the gang of eight burglars often organizes burglaries at goldsmiths and gas stations.

Gang steals safe-boxes in Athens

It was 3 in the morning when a black car stopped in front of Giorgos Zarokostas' jeweler's shop in Piraeus. Inside, 7 men came out wearing white clothes and hoods. They turned down the store entrance, walked in, and stole two safe-boxes full of gold.

Five months later, the owners of the goldsmith shop lived the same nightmare. The same burglars returned to get what they left the first time.
The neighbors who heard the loud noise and the alarm came out to the balconies and alerted the police. Police arrived in a few minutes. They chased the thieves them but they did not manage to conceive them.

Mr. Giorgos, the owner of the goldsmith's shop since 1960, can not hold back his tears.
"Our  lives have been  destroyed" he told me
His  daughter Maria  is also incapacitated. "We were corrupted," she tells me. "The damage we suffered is irreparable in the crisis"

A few hours after the thefts the cars of the burglars were found burned.
