Wrapped in a pink blanket the 10-month-old girl from Afghanistan was transfered from Athens to find her other family in Germany... Her name is Homa .. she has a rare genetic syndrome...
Homa`s family had been separated into two. The mother and her child had been trapped in Greece because of the baby's health, while the father and the other child of the family arrived in Germany. The reunification of the family would expire tomorrow, and if Homa did not travel today mother and child would be trapped in Greece for ever .
So a big airborne of love was set up by the Non-Governmental Organization HAMOGELO TOU PAIDIOU (wich means Child`s smile)
The child's health condition made it impossible to be transported by means of civil aviation. Thus, the Smile of the Child carried out the air transport of the child by air-ambulance via life line aviation with the valuable contribution of Mrs. Klelia Hadjiioannou while at the same time he secured a medical accompaniment of a pediatrician- Mr Agouridakis Ioannis and an anesthetist Mr Gklitis Emmanouil . Also the NGO has effectively supported the family by undertaking all the necessary communications with the competent department Asylum tion, the lawyer in charge of the case and with translation necessary medical documents.
Inside the airship, doctors embrace the baby and assure her mother that the journey will be safe for Homa, and at the hospital in Germany will have the care she needs
Thanks to the great mobilization of the child's smile the beautiful little girl arrived in Germany - and now enjoys the hugs of all of her relatives and the care of specialized doctors.
The story of this child shows that when there is perseverance, will, and good cooperation we can achieve the impossible.
